Sandy Chung
Founder and Advisor

Dr. Sandy Chung is a nationally recognized leader in pediatrics, serving as President of the American Academy of Pediatrics and CEO of Trusted Doctors, a large pediatric practice. As founder of the Trusted Care Foundation, she is dedicated to inspiring and supporting young people, particularly those with limited opportunities, to pursue careers in healthcare and positively impact their communities.
Dr. Chung has received numerous awards for her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to youth mental health and education. She is also a published author and educator, appearing in major media outlets and serving as a role model in both her professional and personal life.

Leah Rowland
Board Vice President

Dr. Rowland grew up in Pittsburgh and trained in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic, where she learned to always put patients first and value teamwork. After working in urgent care in Minnesota, she moved to Virginia for milder winters and is thankful to be part of CHKD, with its strong pediatric specialties and focus on families.
Dr. Rowland finds it meaningful to support children’s growth and help families navigate medical information. She is dedicated to being a trusted pediatrician and values the lessons she learns from her three young children. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, reading, playing piano, and being outdoors.
Michael Martin
Board Secretary

Dr. Martin, founder of Einstein Pediatrics, is a dedicated pediatrician and active member of the Vienna community with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has contributed to important vaccine research and served as President of the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, advocating for children during the COVID pandemic.
Committed to childhood vaccinations and mental health, Dr. Martin is recognized for his leadership, earning awards such as Washingtonian Top Doctor and Northern Virginia Magazine Top Doctor. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family and playing tennis at the Fairfax Racquet Club.

Laura Graham
Advancement Director

Laura serves as Advancement Director for Trusted Care Foundation, where she combines her background in communications with more than 15 years of experience in fundraising and grant strategy. She has guided countless organizations in sharing their stories, strengthening relationships with funders, and securing the resources needed to grow their missions.
Known for her thoughtful and collaborative approach, Laura ensures that proposals and communications reflect both the heart of an organization and the impact it makes. At Trusted Care Foundation, she is dedicated to building meaningful connections and generating support that helps expand access to care and create lasting change for the communities we serve.
Gaelyn Quirey
Program Director

Gaelyn Quirey is a devoted educator and program manager with over nine years of experience in researching, developing, and implementing custom course curricula for diverse populations. Gaelyn excels in fostering continuous growth and improvement in early learning environments. As a focused, hands-on leader, Gaelyn prioritizes strategic planning, research, project management, educational consultation, and operational analysis for both academic and governmental entities.
Gaelyn is tactically skilled in collaborating with and leading high-impact, cross-functional teams to coordinate and achieve organizational objectives. A passionate and positive advocate for equity and individualized learning, Gaelyn is recognized as an innovative critical thinker committed to program excellence.
Sherryl Terry
Financial Director

Sherryl brings over 20 years of experience in medical practice administration and senior leadership. Over the course of her career, she has led the onboarding of cardiology groups into large healthcare systems and served as the administrator for mid-sized to large practices in neurosurgery, cardiology, and pediatrics. Most recently she served as Chief Financial Officer for Trusted Doctors, a network of independent yet integrated pediatric practices with locations across multiple states.
Before entering healthcare administration, Sherryl built a strong foundation in finance through her work in accounting firms and CPA offices.
Nina Shih
Technology and Creative Strategy Director

Nina has a career in User Experience for the past 18+ years, receiving great mentorship and working with amazing teammates at Google, Nest, Fitbit, Microsoft, Samsung, ... She’s led & shipped products such as the Nest Thermostat family of products, Nest Protect v2, Nest Secure, Google’s Health Studies platforms, and more.
Nina was introduced to software development in the 90s, got trained as a traditional architect, but missed the fast pace nature of iterative software design. She then discovered user research, and finally found her calling in the interdisciplinary field of Human Computer Interaction.
Nina leads the Remote Hands-On Training & Support program.
Elizabeth Rellis
Mental Health Program Lead Coordinator

Elizabeth Rellis received her Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Elizabeth practiced in Northern Virginia for over 14 years prior to joining Fairfax Pediatric Associates, and later joining the board for Trusted Care Foundation.
She has also practiced for 10 years as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse. She is certified by the National Certification Board for Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and is a Fellow with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Johnny Lee
Hands-On Remote Medical Training Founder

Johnny is passionate about using technology to enhance people’s abilities and uplift communities. By leveraging wearable devices for remote learning, students gain hands-on skills at home in a more engaging way than typical video calls, while experts enjoy flexible opportunities to share their knowledge. These interactive sessions make practical education more accessible and personalized, empowering more individuals to learn from experienced coaches anytime, anywhere.
Johnny brings over 17 years of experience from Google and Microsoft, where he led projects in 3D sensing, augmented reality, robotics, and multimodal AI. Join us as we make high-quality learning available to all.
